Brighton Make Premier League History With September Awards Treble
Brighton & Hove Albion have taken centre stage in the Premier League after claiming three of September's biggest individual awards, completing a remarkable clean sweep that puts the Seagulls among a select group of clubs in English football history.
Pascal Groß has been named Player of the Month, Fabian Hürzeler has claimed Manager of the Month, while captain Lewis Dunk has won Goal of the Month for his spectacular long-range strike against Coventry City.
The three awards reflect Brighton's outstanding performances throughout September, as the club delivered impressive results and continued to establish itself among the Premier League's most exciting sides.
Pascal Groß Leads Brighton's Award Sweep
Groß was rewarded for an outstanding month in which he delivered two goals and three assists, recording five of his six league-leading goal involvements during September.
The midfielder played a decisive role in Brighton's emphatic 5-0 victory over Coventry City, scoring from the penalty spot and providing two assists.
He continued his excellent form against Arsenal, scoring a superb opening goal before setting up Chema Andrés during Brighton's impressive 3-0 victory over the reigning champions.
At 35 years old, Groß has shown that experience and quality can still make a major difference at the highest level. The award is also his first-ever Premier League Player of the Month honour.
Hürzeler's Tactical Impact Recognised
Brighton's success has also brought recognition for head coach Fabian Hürzeler, who has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for September.
The German coach guided his side through an impressive run, including the commanding victories over Coventry and Arsenal.
Brighton's attacking intensity, movement and ability to create opportunities were evident throughout the month. Their performance against Arsenal, in particular, demonstrated how effectively Hürzeler's side could challenge one of the league's leading teams.
The award marks Hürzeler's second Manager of the Month honour, adding another milestone to his growing career in English football.
Lewis Dunk Completes the Historic Treble
Dunk provided the final piece of Brighton's award-winning month with a stunning goal against Coventry.
The club captain unleashed a powerful strike from approximately 30 yards, sending the ball into the top corner during Brighton's 5-0 win.
The spectacular effort stood out among September's best goals and earned Dunk the Premier League's Goal of the Month award.
His achievement completed Brighton's clean sweep, making the club only the fifth team in Premier League history to win the Player, Manager and Goal of the Month awards simultaneously.
Brighton's September Statement
For Brighton, this achievement is more than a collection of individual prizes. It reflects a team performing well across different areas of the pitch, with Groß providing creativity, Hürzeler directing the team and Dunk leading from the back.
The Seagulls have now earned a place in a small group of clubs to dominate the Premier League's monthly awards in this way.
One club. Three awards. One unforgettable September. Brighton are flying, and the rest of the Premier League have been put on notice.
