Erling Haaland Buys Luxury Abu Dhabi Home Worth Millions

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has purchased a luxury property in Abu Dhabi, with his father, former Manchester City defender Alf-Inge Haaland, reportedly acquiring a neighbouring home in the same exclusive development.

The properties are part of Manchester City Yas Residences by Ohana, a Manchester City-branded residential project located along Yas Canal, near Yas Island in the United Arab Emirates. The development features luxury townhouses, duplex villas and larger family homes, with its most expensive properties reportedly valued at approximately £7.5 million.

According to the developer, Haaland was announced as a homeowner during the launch of the project's second phase on October 12, 2026. The announcement has attracted attention because of the Norwegian striker's connection to Manchester City and the scale of the luxury development.

Manchester City-Branded Development in Abu Dhabi

The residential project is being developed in collaboration with Manchester City and property developer Ohana Development. Plans include a Manchester City training academy, exclusive resident facilities, recreational spaces and landscaped areas.

The development is designed to combine luxury living with the identity and global appeal of the Premier League club. Its range of properties caters to different budgets, with smaller townhouses costing substantially less than the largest luxury villas.

Haaland's reported purchase alongside his father's neighbouring property has added another talking point to the announcement. However, neither purchase should be interpreted as evidence of a change in the striker's professional future.

Haaland's Property News Comes Amid City's Financial Case

The purchases have also drawn attention because they were reported shortly after Manchester City were found guilty by an independent commission of serious breaches of Premier League financial rules.

On September 29, the Premier League announced that the commission had found City guilty of charges relating to financial breaches across nine seasons, from 2009–10 to 2017–18. The commission also upheld the majority of allegations concerning the club's failure to cooperate with the investigation.

Manchester City subsequently lodged an appeal, arguing that the ruling contains significant errors of law, principle and fact. The club continues to contest the findings, and the appeal process remains a separate matter from Haaland's property purchase.

There is no established evidence that the striker's real-estate investment is connected to the financial proceedings against the club.

A Major Investment Away From Football

Haaland's reported move into Abu Dhabi's luxury property market highlights the scale of investment surrounding the development and the commercial reach of the Manchester City brand.

For now, the confirmed headline is that Haaland has become a homeowner at the City-branded project, while reports say his father has secured a neighbouring property. With luxury villas reportedly reaching £7.5 million, the development is attracting attention well beyond football.

The timing is notable, but the property purchases and Manchester City's appeal should be treated as separate stories unless further evidence establishes a connection.
