Vincent Garcia Knows the 2026 Ballon d’Or Winner

Vincent Garcia Is the Only Person Who Knows the 2026 Ballon d’Or Winner

The identity of the 2026 Ballon d’Or winner remains a closely guarded secret, with Vincent Garcia, editor-in-chief of France Football, reportedly the only person who knows the result ahead of the ceremony.

The prestigious award will be presented on Monday, October 26, at the London Palladium in London, marking the first time the Ballon d’Or ceremony has been held in the British capital.

France Football has tightened its secrecy procedures in recent years to prevent leaks and ensure that the winner is revealed live during the ceremony. Under the current approach, players and clubs are not informed of the result in advance, allowing the announcement to remain a surprise until the trophy is presented.

Garcia previously explained that the decision was designed to limit leaks and preserve the emotion of the occasion. The policy followed years in which winners were sometimes informed before the gala so that interviews and special magazine features could be prepared.

Who will win the 2026 Ballon d’Or?

Several leading players are in contention for this year's award, including Kylian Mbappé, Lamine Yamal, Harry Kane and other stars who delivered outstanding performances during the 2025–26 season.

The winner is selected by an international panel of journalists, who assess individual performances, decisive contributions, team achievements and fair play. With the ceremony approaching, speculation and predictions are expected to intensify.

However, rumours and alleged leaks should not be confused with an official result. Until France Football announces the winner at the ceremony, the identity of the next Ballon d’Or recipient remains unconfirmed publicly.

All eyes will be on London on October 26, when the football world finally discovers who will succeed 2025 winner Ousmane Dembélé.
